PLUS: It's polling day in Greater Manchester
Hello, This time yesterday in the M.E.N office, we were settling in to cover what looked set to finally be opening night for Manchester’s Co-op Live.
Shortly after, the M.E.N revealed the gig had been cancelled after a 'piece of air conditioning unit' fell from the ceiling during A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s soundcheck. One person who was working at the venue at the time told the M.E.N. that he witnessed what looked like a "steel bar fall from the ceiling into the bowl" at about 5.30pm.
This week could be far from the end for cancellations at the arena, with huge names including Take That, Elbow, and the rescheduled Peter Kay gigs. We’ll keep you in the loop. Other results due in the early hours of Friday morning are from Rochdale where MP George Galloway's Workers Party of Britain party has been heavily targeting Labour seats.Galloway under fire Speaking of Mr Galloway, he has come under fire after saying he doesn't think that gay relationships are equal to heterosexual relationships.
"I want them to be taught that there are gay people in the world and that they must be treated with respect and affection as I treat my own gay friends and colleagues with respect and affection but I don't want my children to be taught that these things are equal because I don't believe them to be equal."
The club have said they are taking action over claims "scumbag" fans have pretended to be disabled in order to get access to away games this season. Some able-bodied fans have sat in wheelchairs in order to see a match, it is claimed.
