'I think some people may actually be upset when it goes'
On an otherwise ordinary street in Tameside, locals in disbelief over a peculiar addition to a set of newly built houses.
Her husband agrees, saying the decision was 'daft' but the house had become a 'popular conversation topic' with people who live and work in Ashton. A clerk at a shop on Whiteacre Road said: "When it was put in it was all people talked about, it's not something you see every day but I wasn't that surprised. If you look down the street you can see a few lampposts almost touching houses, they're put that far back from the road."
"Everything runs level with the pavement on that road, all the houses are level, I can't move that one back. I've built it how it is set out in the drawings, that end house is nearly finished, we've got the plasterers in and they're nearly done."
