When cleaning the tub, most of us grab the nearest bathroom cleaner, spray liberally, and dive right in to wipe it down and rinse it off again.
However, unless you follow the directions on the label, your cleaner won’t be doing its job properly. Why? Most need to be left for a set amount of time to work – usually around 5 minutes – after they’ve been sprayed on to the tub, so don’t rinse straight away. Use a nylon bristle brush on stubborn marks, but not an abrasive cleaner. In hard water areas, use a limescale cleaner, especially around the taps.
If the bath is very dirty, fill it with warm water, adding a couple of scoops of biological washing powder, and leave it to soak overnight. Rinse it out well before bathing.
