Instead, her comments comparing her boobs to “basset hound ears” made the front pages.
The obsession with discussing female politicians and their body parts has been going on for a long time – and Rayner herself won’t be surprised by it. Although her role as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party makes her one of the most senior women in UK politics, she has faced undue fascination with her body, right down to her knickers, before.of trying to distract former prime minister Boris Johnson by “crossing and uncrossing her legs” during PMQs.
