A new pet survey led by TV personality and veterinarian Dr Chris Brown has uncovered the surprising percentage of Australians who admit to kissing their pets on the lips.

The study, which surveyed over 30,000 pet owners across Australia earlier this year, offers a fresh look at the evolving role pets play in our daily lives. Additionally, 58 per cent of respondents said their pets sleep in their beds, and 82 per cent shared that it wouldn’t be a deal-breaker if their partner insisted on having the pet in bed with them.According to Dr Chris Brown's 2024 pet census, 32 per cent of Australians admit to kissing their pet on the lips. Appearing on Channel Seven’s Sunrise program Thursday morning, he added that while dogs and humans “generally” have their own bugs that don’t cross over, there’s still a chance to “pick anything up” when kissing them on the lips.
