Clone Wars improved the Star Wars prequels in many ways, and that includes Yoda’s portrayal in the prequel trilogy compared to the original films.
The Star Wars prequels’ portrayal of Yoda left a lot to be desired compared to how impactful the Jedi Master had been in the original trilogy, and it was up to Star Wars: The Clone Wars to fix it. The aged Jedi Master was always destined to be one of the key characters connecting Anakin Skywalker's origin story to the original trilogy.
While it cannot be denied audiences wanted to see how Yoda, the legendary Jedi Master, fought during his “great warrior” days, Yoda’s powers were never the most interesting thing about the character. By showing Yoda fight several times, the Star Wars prequels removed a bit of the character’s magic as there was no longer a massive difference between Yoda and other Jedi. Apart from his speed and his shorter lightsaber, there was nothing particularly notable about Yoda’s fighting style.
