New information has been revealed about Spider-Man 2099's costume in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which drastically changes one major scene.
New details have been revealed about Spider-Man 2099's costume in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Oscar Isaac first voiced the character of Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but had a much larger role in the 2023 sequel as the leader of the interdimensional Spider Society.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT During a recent thread on Twitter, comics artist, inker, and lead character designer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Kris Anka revealed more information about Spider-Man 2099. This included exploring how Miguel O'Hara's body was designed, revealing the Mezzo-American inspiration for O'Hara's Spider-Man costume, and concluding on the right design of O'Hara's costume's spider logo.
Spider-Man 2099's "Digital Suit" Reveal Changes Across The Spider-Verse Miles Morales' attempt to escape from the Spider Society in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ends with the entire group of Spider-People gathered on a fast-moving train, with Miles pinned down by Miguel O'Hara.
Why Spider-Man 2099's Design Is So Clever Spider-Man 2099 already stands out from the other Spider-People due to his innate differences, including the fact that his powers were gifted to him by a genetic experiment rather than a spider bite, and he has vastly different spider-like powers to his other variants.
While Miguel O'Hara's digital costume makes him appear stronger when compared to the other Spider-People of the Spider Society, it also means that he has a major weakness in the battle against Miles Morales. Miles' electricity powers are able to interfere with the technology of Spider-Man 2099's suit, which theoretically means that Miles could simply switch it off whenever he pleases.
