The Ted Lasso season 3 finale wasn't perfect and left viewers with some unanswered questions, but one Jamie choice worked brilliantly for his arc.
While the Ted Lasso season 3 finale likely marked the end of the series and Jamie’s amazing character arc, one mistake he made was a brilliant way to show his growth and lack thereof. Phil Dunster has been a standout throughout Ted Lasso season 3, taking Jamie from the self-involved striker who regularly demeaned others to a great team player and friend. When Ted Lasso began, he was dating Keeley, a popular model, but it didn’t take long for their relationship to fall apart.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT There may never be a Ted Lasso season 4, but the Apple TV+ series was able to accomplish a great deal in its three seasons, especially with the character of Jamie Tartt. There are few true villains in Ted Lasso, with the show and Ted taking an optimistic approach in believing that people are always capable of change.
Jamie Trying To Claim Keeley Shows He Hasn't Fully Grown Yet Some have called Ted Lasso season 3 disappointing, especially since it’s more than likely the final season, but one highlight throughout everything was Jamie and his development. Ted Lasso’s first two seasons saw a lot of regression and growth from Jamie, but it was in season 3 that viewers were truly able to see him develop into a great character and person.
Earlier in Ted Lasso season 3, Jamie apologized to Keeley when a racy video she had sent him was leaked to the press. Yet, in the finale, he used that same video to stake claim to Keeley over Roy. Before letting Keeley decide who she'd rather be with, the duo got into a physical fight, which shows that while they are flawed, they do know right from wrong and are willing to own up to their poor decisions.
Keeley Choosing Herself Shows That She Has Grown Throughout Ted Lasso, Keeley has consistently had love interests, and it seemed as though Roy and Keeley would officially get back together by the end of the Ted Lasso season 3 finale. Except, when Roy and Jamie confronted her with the choice, she instead chose to put her own wants and needs first. Keeley doesn’t need to be single to be strong and independent, just like she no longer needs a man to feel worthy.
