The Darwin bottle shop attendant's father said his son - a 'wonderful, opinionated, strong lad' - sent him a short text message moments before he died.
“Love you, been stabbed,” the man says his 20-year-old son messaged him just before he died from his stab wounds at the Airport Tavern bottleshop in Darwin’s northern suburbs on Sunday night.Sources told Sky News Australia the bottle shop attendant was stabbed after refusing the customer service just as the store was about to close.The father, who did not give his name, called in to Darwin radio station Mix FM on Monday morning and spoke to host and Sky News Australia contributor Katie Woolf.
The father, who went to the scene after the incident, said he was still trying to come to terms with his son’s death. “They’re just little things,” he said. “When I come home his dinner is in the fridge from last night.”
