Edinburgh Unsurprisingly, the Scottish capital is no stranger to a good chippy — and if you're headed there in August you can enjoy one in the bustling surroundings of the Fringe. Meanwhile, moving across to the beautiful and historic town of St Andrews, it may be best known for its world-famous golf courses, but it is also home to some of the tastiest fish and chip spots in Scotland. You can't go wrong with either Cromars Classic Fish & Chips or Tailend, the latter of which boasts four generations of fish-mongering expertise.
