But none of that matters to Gregg Popovich. Reiterating what he said at media day two weeks ago, the 73-year-old coach stressed before the Spurs took the court against the Pelicans that this season is all about development. “What we have is a bunch of guys who can all be part of a championship team if the other pieces arrive at some point. So to watch them develop, to watch their spirit and their camaraderie with each other, has been really a kick.”
In logging nine minutes in his first preseason action, the New Jersey native scored nine points on 4-of-4 shooting , grabbed three rebounds, dished out an assist and recorded a block.
