The number of new COVID-19 cases reported on Monday was the lowest in nearly three weeks but experts are divided on whether Australia has flattened the curve.However, Stephen Leeder, a public health professor at the University of Sydney, said case figures could easily start to rise again. There has been a more sustained fall in the number of new cases in NSW since late-March but Professor de Courten said the growing proportion of cases with an unknown source of infection was concerning.
"For that reason we still hold our breath. If community spread decreases, that means we're becoming more efficient in testing and identifying cases."
