Ahead of the final season's return, TheWalkingDead's Norman Reedus will be receiving a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Norman Reedus, Daryl Dixon on AMC's The Walking Dead, will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this month. The Walking Dead is a zombie horror series that first premiered on AMC in 2010. Based on the comics of the same name, The Walking Dead has since grown to become one of the largest horror franchises, with a series of tie-in books, games, merchandise, and six spin-off series. The Walking Dead will enter the last part of its final season on October 2.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY With The Walking Dead having had an 11-season run, many characters have come and gone from the series. As of season 11, only two characters remain from season 1: Melissa McBride's Carol Peletier, and Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon. Daryl is one of the most beloved characters on the series among fans, and despite The Walking Dead coming to an end this year, the series finale will not be the last viewers see of Daryl.

The producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ana Martinez, says that Reedus' star will be very aptly placed near the star of George A. Romero, who is most famous for creating the zombie film Night of the Living Dead. The Walking Dead showrunner Greg Nicotero and horror movie master director Guillermo del Toro will be unveiling Reedus' star at the ceremony.

Considering that Reedus has starred in one of the most popular horror television series of all-time for 11 consecutive seasons, it's no surprise that he is being honored with a star for his work in television. Though The Walking Dead is coming to an end, Reedus will continue to be involved with the franchise in Daryl's spinoff series, solidifying his impressive work on television even more.
