No, but the PM has. I have had discussions with shadow minister Julian Leeser, and I will continue to have those discussions. Their public position is that “We are not closing the door, but want to see how a voice enshrined in the constitution actually is going to make a difference to the daily lives of First Nations people,” and I think that’s fair enough.
LB: I think that’s been completely debunked and it is clear to most people now that this is not a third tier of parliament. This is an advisory body only, and it is up to the parliament on whether the parliament accepts that advice or not.A fortnight ago you were quoted to the effect that you won’t be rushed on holding the referendum and when the time does come, you want it to be basically be yes or no to the Voice, rather than having putting forward a specific model.
