The Winchesters producer and narrator Jensen Ackles laments the fact that the show was canceled by The CW and was unable to find a new home.
The Winchesters' cancellation has been lamented by producer and narrator Jensen Ackles. Ackles starred as Dean Winchester in the long-running series Supernatural, which aired on The CW between 2005 and 2020. The Winchesters, which followed the Winchester brothers' parents Mary and John , premiered in October 2022 but was canceled after the end of its first season due to The CW's new parent company Nexstar radically restructuring their content slate.
In his heartfelt post he thanked the fans of the series and bid farewell, saying "until we meet again." He also confirmed that the show couldn't find a home, citing the fact that with the combination of The CW's new direction and the ongoing Hollywood writers strike, it just wasn't a feasible prospect.
