The aphasia rehabilitation program that helped stroke survivor Paul Fraser learn how to speak again is about to be expanded from one Queensland hospital service to eight hospital and health services across three states.

"When someone loses their communication ability it can lead to [a] significant risk of depression and social isolation," Professor Copland said. "My son's into photography. I could see the picture of photography and I know it's photography but I couldn't say the word."
