The outrage expressed about the new Senate dress code leaves one a bit cold.

John Fetterman’s clothes are a news item. His casual, working-class mode of accoutrement has raised the ire of right-wing senators. Fetterman’s style expresses a public concern for the working class and poor, a concern not much expressed in the staid halls of the highly undemocratic, wealth soaked, and war-mongering U.S. Senate .

A hoodie and shorts=a disgrace, but not authorizing the mass murderous criminal assault on Iraq that is linked to the deaths of well over one million people, and the spread of violence throughout the region. Why is it not “an affront to the dignity of the office” to accept legal bribes from oil and gas companies, the real estate industry, and the securities and investment firms, etc.

Those who take the largest bribes, support the criminal wars, and bail out the largest banks, follow the old dress code. One doubts a new dress code will change much of that, even if a few, like Fetterman and Sanders, support peace, fairness, working people, and the impoverished. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
