Highly respected Sharks forward Dale Finucane has announced his retirement from rugby league effective immediately on medical advice due to concussions.

The medical advice was that I retire and not continue to play and that was from two medical experts,” Finucane said. “I’d like to think Fitzy for the process. He obviously came over to my house and speak with my wife and alleviate her with any fears that she had with what was happening and to give her peace of mind that I wasn’t going to be playing until my health was put first,” Funicane said.
