Advocates are pushing for more midwifery-led maternity care after hundreds of expectant mothers were turned away from Perth hospitals over the past year.
"Just for my peace of mind, next time I'll go private," she said.
The proportion of births by C-section in Australia has been sitting above 30 per cent and rising for more than a decade. Ms Rigney says WA is falling behind other states and territories in providing adequate maternity services.
