The Australian's Greg Sheridan: If another referendum was held on Brexit, it would have to be designed to ensure it is not 'rigged' by remainers. MORE: speers
British Prime Minister Theresa May is offering to sit down with Opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn to draw up a new Brexit deal in order to break the stalemate, saying the departure 'cannot drag on much longer'.
After a marathon cabinet meeting, Ms May says once a plan is agreed upon between the two leaders it will be put to the House of Commons for approval. Mr Corbyn says he is 'very happy' to meet with the Prime Minister for talks to try and break the impasse. Britain is set to leave the EU on April 12 without a deal in place, though a resolution will need to be made by May 22 to ensure the UK avoids taking part in the European Parliament elections.
