Two popular superstar headliners are expected to follow U2 for residencies at the Sphere on the Las Vegas Strip.
U2's residency includes 25 shows for U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere, which will be the band's first live shows since it performed before the Covid pandemic in December 2019. The Sphere website lists four sold out shows in the residency on Sept. 29, 30, Oct. 7 and 8. A fifth show on Oct. 5 that originally"sold out" back in April still has some tickets available at $1,450. Tickets available for the remaining 20 shows range from $400 to $1,450.Ticketmaster opened U2.
As U2 wraps up its residency in the holiday season, the Sphere will be preparing for its next headliner residency to take over at the $2.3 billion entertainment venue. Speculation has been swirling with regards to which big name act will be the next to book a residency at the Sphere. As U2 was selling out it's first shows of the residency back in April, the big rumor that hit was former One Direction member and popular solo artist Harry Styles might be the next performer to take residency at The Sphere after U2 departs. British tabloid The Sun reported that Styles has been offered $50 million for a residency at the new venue, the Review-Journal reported.
The article said that the reason for this theory was that Styles had sold about 250,000 tickets for several shows at Madison Square Garden. Styles' manager Full Stop Management, which is reportedly involved in lining up performers for The Sphere, also has a connection working as a consultant for one of the venue's partners, Madison Square Garden Entertainment.
Following Styles to the Sphere in April 2024 for a residency might be popular jam band Phish, which the entertainment venue's booking insiders have consistently name-dropped, reports said. Earlier rumors claimed Phish might perform in the venue on New Year's Eve, but that is not possible since the band is already committed to four shows around New Year's Eve at Madison Square Garden in New York.
