Manager Terry Francona and the Guardians are now set to return to the corner of Carnegie and Ontario with a wealth of experiences and a division title in tow.
As the Guardians got closer to clinching the division last year, attendance naturally went up at home games in September. But Myles Straw and his teammates understand that every game can’t be a sellout, and that’s what makes days like the home opener special.
Straw says playing in front of 35,000 screaming fans at home just feels different. The energy is unmistakable. Oscar Gonzalez said the challenge for Guardians players this season is to take the same mental approach and focus into each game that they had down the stretch in 2022.
