Where to go if your family needs a donated Thanksgiving meals or turkey

As Thanksgiving approaches next week, many businesses and community organizations are offering free meal giveaways for those in need.Houston Houston Rockets & 50 Centswas postponed Saturday due to inclement weather.In partnership with Kroger, the Rockets and G-Unity are expected to distribute 1.000 turkeys to low-income families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The event, which will feature an appearance by Curtis"50 Cent" Jackson, is open to the public in a drive-up only format. Turkeys will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis with a limit of one Thanksgiving meal per vehicle. The meal includes food items donated by the G-Unity Foundation, Kroger, and Spec’s in addition to a ticket voucher to an upcoming Rockets home game. With supplies limited to the first 1,000 vehicles, only families in need are encouraged to participate.Operation Turkey will hold a tailgate to smoke the hundreds of turkeys they will be serving with meals Thanksgiving Day.
