Douglas Murray said the indictment was 'very likely' to help Donald Trump regain the White House, and if the prosecution went ahead, which he predicted 'with 100 per cent certainty', the Republicans would use judicial means to go after the Bidens.

Mr Murray also pointed out that the campaign was “very likely” to help the former president in his bid to return to the White House.

“All of his Republican contenders who are running against him will have to spend all their time talking about Donald Trump, which will not upset him at all. While acknowledging that Trump’s 2016 campaign rallies were known for “lock her up” chants, referring to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, which Trump had encouraged, the conservative author pointed out that when he got into office, then-president Trump didn’t actually try to lock Ms Clinton up.
