The inquest into the death of Kirra-Lea McLoughlin has heard the Queensland woman's de facto partner confessed to attacking the 27-year-old on the same night she was fatally injured.

If you need help call the Women's Crisis Line on 1800 811 811 Throughout the inquest, the court heard Ms McLoughlin's former de facto partner told police she had been in a physical altercation with his sister, during which Ms McLoughlin was struck several times in the face and fell backward, hitting her head on a cupboard.
"He said he was in a violent rage and shaking her and her head was banging on the floor or wall," the woman said. The woman also gave graphic details about alleged abuse and sexual assault she suffered from the same man while the pair were in a relationship.
