Residents invited to come up with their own plan to run their Northern Territory city are seeing their 10-year strategic plan come into effect.
When a Northern Territory local council was dismissed for poor governance in 2017, the council that replaced it needed to restore the public's trust.
"When we vote for people in councils to make decisions on our behalf, we're actually asking them to be a voice," Ms Mulambya said. The trio say they have kept in contact with the council since being part of the experience. She said implementing the people's wish list took "a very brave approach" but was "definitely worth doing".
As a mother of a child with a disability, Ms Mulambya said she has yet to see much done to increase accessibility for disabled people in public areas but believed the bulk of the 10-year plan was underway.
