Education technology start-ups are proving resilient to the tough funding market conditions, with Intellischool the latest to raise fresh funds.

The company, founded in 2018 by Dave Philp and Josh Turci, has created a software product that integrates with digital learning management systems, NAPLAN and common digital tools used by teachers and schools.Eamon Gallagher

“The process was probably one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever had. We were dealing with stakeholders with different ideas and interpretations of how things work, or should be done … and had vehemently strong opinions. After “soft launching” the product in late 2020, the business went from no revenue to generating $250,000 in only four months.

“I knew if there was a need for teachers to learn to use another system, it was likely to fail. I wanted it to be integrated into what they were already doing every day,” he said.
