Australian wildcard Aleksandar Vukic looked to the sky in wonderment moments after he claimed his first grand slam match victory in four sets over South Africa’s Lloyd Harris on Monday.

Vukic said he was nervous closing out the match but was overjoyed to take the win in front of his parents and family.“I knew I wasn’t alone. I couldn’t have done it without them. This is a dream, mate.“They’re [my parents] the reason why I am here. My whole family is here and a few friends as well. It means the world. They are with me day in and day out, and through ups and downs ... a lot of stuff that people don’t see. I’m so grateful for them.
“I’m hoping so. I’m taking it day-by-day. I’ll treasure this moment for the rest of our life,” Vukic said.
