The San Antonio-based grocery chain opened its first Dallas suburb store on Wednesday.
“I knew there was going to be a crowd, but this is totally insane,” Jeffery Walser, a former H-E-B employee who now lives in North Texas, told the television station.H-E-B has only a handful of stores in North Texas in Johnson and Ellis counties. The Frisco store is the first in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. H-E-B plans to open new locations in Plano, McKinney and Allen.
On Tuesday, anticipating large crowds of people at the new grocery store, the Frisco Police Department tweeted a suggested traffic route for the opening. “Plan your route, bring along some patience, and be kind to the motorists around you,” Frisco Police said on Twitter. “It’s safe to say there are more than a few folks that have been waiting for their doors to open."A breakdown of key state and local races and candidates in the May 24 primary runoff.
