is worrying . Many of us on the Bellarine despair about the visions of ″progress″ being imposed on the region by wealthy investors. We are perfectly happy with quiet streets, rolling fields, and unrenovated pubs. The article mentions that the Bellarine Peninsula isn’t as trendy as Portsea, Sorrento, Lorne or Torquay. Long may that continue.
Rising sea levels are creating disastrous impacts upon many Pacific Island nations by swamping their homes and agricultural lands. The potential to destroy their economies is looming larger day by day. China and Australia can and should work together to not only tackle the reasons for global warming, but also to work together to manage the short-term impacts such as building the necessary infrastructure to protect their economies.
