The city of Juarez, Mexico, is chartering buses from El Paso, Texas to its festival starting Friday through July 3.

Transborde Ruta Binacional, the bus company that already has routes from the city to El Paso International Airport, Cielo Vista Mall, and back, forged the agreement with Juarez. Its fare is $10. Normally, a trip of this distance across the border can take hours in traffic, but this bus's route will only take 35 minutes. Each bus takes off at 7 p.m. and returns at midnight.

Feria Juarez 2022 began last weekend, featuring carnival rides, festival foods, and concerts. Tickets for each artist are going for anywhere between $34 and $175.“The idea is that people who want to come to the fair from El Paso have the means to do so and get back,” Juarez Tourism Director Jacqueline Armendariz said.Crime is on the decline in both border cities. El Paso's violent crime rate was 318 per 100,000 residents in 2020, the most recent year data were available.
