ITV bosses are facing crisis talks to save the brand after This Morning Holly Willoughby's announcement saying she is leaving the brand. The morning talkshow paid tribute to Holly, who stepped down from her role after 14 years.
They added that the recent events had left her fearing for her safety, but also 'devastated' by the fallout. ITV bosses face crisis meetings to save the brand after the “triple blow”.The series is reeling from the exits of Phillip Schofield and Holly in just four months. It also lost the National TV Awards daytime prize for the first time in 12 years, in a sign it could be losing favour with the public.
Craig added: “Holly made what we know would’ve been a heartbreaking decision to leave This Morning after 14 years.” Holly, who has three children aged 13, 11, and eight with husband Dan Baldwin, has been absent since last week, following reports that police stopped an alleged plot to have the presenter kidnapped and killed.
In a statement on Tuesday, Holly said it had been a “difficult decision”. Vanessa Feltz, a panellist on the daytime show, said: “She is through and through a golden-hearted, sweet, funny, extremely bright – don’t be fooled by that pretty face to think there’s nothing behind the eyes – clever, intuitive, incisive, fabulous person.”
