I’m as happy as a clam in my tiny new quarters, now that I have my new Mate for company.
More precisely, it’s a 32-inch 4K monitor that can plug into a laptop or desktop computer, and also comes with a remote control, a detachable webcam, built-in speakers, built-in Wi-Fi and Samsung’s smart TV operating system, allowing you to use it like a regular TV, albeit one that lacks a free-to-air tuner, which, let’s face it, you can very well live without nowadays.
The MacBook’s display, beaming to my M8 over Wi-Fi, is not nearly as sharp as it would be with a direct connection, but the MacBook itself is fairly responsive to the mouse and keyboard, perhaps because it happens to be on the same network, only in a much colder room.My Microsoft Surface Laptop, also downstairs in the cold, should respond better, but oddly enough doesn’t. The text isn’t as sharp, and the mouse and keyboard have more lag.
