The main event in Anchorage this weekend will be the launch of the 88th Fur Rendezvous. But if you’d rather stay away from the festival’s hustle and bustle, there are plenty of other options.
This Anchorage Symphony production features music from Louise Farrenc, Felix Mendelssohn and Ludwig van Beethoven in a show that aims to “discover new favorites and rediscover old ones.” Tickets start at $27.50.There will be a “Sassy Saturday” show followed by a “Burlesque Brunch” on Sunday morning for cabaret fans to enjoy during the first Rondy weekend. Tickets are $17/$23/$28.The stoke level is high for this retro ski party, which will have everything short of fresh pow.
Presale tickets are $15, and $20 the day of the show.Fat Tuesday landed on the calendar this week, and this celebration features live music from The Jephries, Sideways, DJ BeeOne and Bad Charlotte, which has its origins in New Orleans. There will also be beads, face painting and more Mardi Gras-style festivities.Anchorage Festival of Music is partnering with UAA for this family-friendly one-act operetta.
