Glasgow families will be able to grab free cinema tickets next month, with Cineworld’s across the city opening up the offer as families feel the strain of the cost of living crisis.

On December 3 the new feature film Why the Nativity will premiere, with the film’s maker offering up 25,000 free tickets for families to head to their local cinema. The hope is for a free festive day out, as well as a chance to learn about the Christmas story. The film brings the story of the nativity to life, telling the birth of Jesus and Mary and Josephs journey to Bethlehem.A local church leader said: “This is such an exciting opportunity for families in the local community to come together to start their Christmas celebrations.

“Going to the cinema can be out of reach for many families because of pressure on family budgets so the fact that this is free makes it really appealing.” Sign up to Glasgow Live's newsletter Get all the latest Glasgow news and headlines sent straight to your inbox twice a day by signing up to our free newsletter. The morning newsletter arrives every day before 9am and the evening newsletter, manually curated by the team, is sent between 4pm and 5pm, giving you a round up of the most important stories we've covered that day.
