A husband and wife from Wisconsin celebrating more than 50 years of marriage were killed in a lightning strike outside the White House, authorities in Washington DC said. 9News
A third victim was pronounced dead late Friday , and one other is hospitalised with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities did not reveal how the people were injured, other than to say they were critically hurt in the lightning strike. An image from video footage shows a bolt of lightning close to the White House in Washington DC on Thursday. McNett said she's not sure why the couple picked the nation's capital for their vacation, but added that "Donna was a constant learner."
