A 16-year-old has been called a hero after he died trying to wrestle a gun off the Michigan school shooter as a fourth student died in hospital.

The death toll from the tragedy at Oxford High School rose to four as a 17-year-old boy, Justin Shilling, succumbed to his injuries.One of the victims, Tate Myre, 16, has been called a hero by police who said he tried to disarm the shooter at Oxford High School before later dying in a police car as deputies rushed him to hospital.

“He was a standout player. He inspired many people and was loved by many people,” Matt Johnson, 17, told theThe two other victims were Hana St. Juliana, 14 and Madisyn Baldwin, 17, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. Three of the injured students, a 15-year-old boy, and two girls, ages 14 and 17, are in critical condition.
