Firefighters in Nottinghamshire rescued three dogs from a burning house on Saturday.
Fire crews from Ashfield, Mansfield and Alfreton fire stations brought the fire under control at the property in Festus Street, Kirkby in Ashfield, and managed to bring the dogs out to safety. On arrival at the house, firefighters saw smoke rising from the property and quickly donned breathing apparatus before entering the building.
They extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and were able to rescue the dogs, which they handed over to the owner fit and well. As well as the crews from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, officers from Nottinghamshire Police and paramedics from the East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the fire.Ashfield Fire Station said in a Facebook post: "Firefighters from Ashfield, Mansfield and Alfreton Fire Stations responded to a house fire on Festus Street Kirkby in Ashfield.
"2 firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus quickly made access into the property and extinguished a fire using 1 hose reel jet. 3 dogs were rescued by service and handed over to the owner, all are fit and well. Nottinghamshire police and EMAS were also in attendance."
