Council proposes to sell Glasgow flats to housing association
Three council flats in the West End which were used as temporary accommodation are set to be sold to a housing association in a deal worth £850,000.
They were previously among 64 flats used by the council’s former housing service as temporary accommodation.Known as 'decant' flats, they are often used when work needs to be carried out in a home that has become inhabitable, due to incidents such as flooding. A report by officials stated the flat at 29 Park Road is a three-apartment property on the ground floor of a four-storey tenement, while the two flats at 23 Oakfield Avenue are five-apartment properties on the first and second floor of a tenement.City Property, wholly owned by the council, acquired 40 of the former decant flats while around 20 were sold to housing associations in 2015.
It added title issues for the three flats have now been “resolved” by the council’s legal services team.
