Three hurt in shooting at Potomac Avenue Metro station in Southeast D.C., police say, prompting suspended rail service
D.C. police said the incident involved three victims. Authorities said one man was unconscious and not breathing. Two other men were both conscious and breathing.Metro suspended rail service on the Orange, Blue and Silver lines between the Federal Center SW station and the Minnesota Avenue and Benning Road stations. Metro advised commuters to use Metrobus Route 30 as an alternative.
Devin Jennings, 19, said he was on a bus from Maryland while headed to work in Rosslyn when he saw a man pull out a gun and put it to the head of another man on the bus. The armed man told the passenger to get off his cell phone, and the passenger responded, “Yes, sir,” Jennings said. He said the gunman threatened to shoot the bus passenger.Minutes later, the bus pulled up to the Potomac Avenue Metro station and the doors opened.
Jennings said the gunman then went down to the fare gate, where more shots rang out. He said he turned around and ran back up the escalator and yelled at other commuters to run because of the shooting. Jennings, who is an electrical technician for McDonalds, was waiting behind police tape Wednesday morning after the shooting.Infrastructure:
