Police said the alleged assaults were ‘excessively violent’.

A 31-year-old woman at the home was allegedly threatened with a knife before being sexually assaulted and robbed of money. Two days later, about 12.30am on Thursday, police allege the group broke into another home on Jacobs St in Bankstown, about 8km west of the first alleged incident.

Three men have been charged after allegedly assaulting two women during separate home invasions. Police launched an investigation into the incidents and executed search warrants at properties in Belmore, Punchbowl and Greenacre with the assistance of the Riot Squad. Add 7NEWS as your preferred news source on Google Detective Superintendent Virginia Gorman said police believe the trio were on their way to target another person when they were arrested.

She alleged the men had researched their intended victims before the attacks, targeting women who were home alone and who they believed may have money at their properties. Gorman said the victims were allegedly restrained with duct tape placed over their mouths and subjected to significant violence, including being punched.

“You don’t need to do that to overcome a solo female. “Very violent, excessively violent for three men armed with a weapon against vulnerable women home alone. ”Credit: 7NEWS Gorman said while the victims’ physical injuries may heal relatively quickly, the psychological impact of the alleged attacks could be much longer lasting.

“It’s the mental injuries of having a person invade your home and do that kind of violence to you that will be a long time for them to recover from them,” she said. All three men were charged with one two counts of choking a person and single counts of aggravated break and enter, aggravated robbery, common assault and use offensive weapon in company.

The 19-year-old was also charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of failing to comply with an digital evidence access order direction. The oldest accused will appear before Burwood Local Court while the two others will appear before Bankstown Local Court on Friday.
