Warships from Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands left Glasgow over the weekend after taking part in a major two week war simulation.
The UK-led Joint Warrior exercise saw 14 nations including the US, Germany and France run through a range of scenarios, including crisis and conflict situations, that could be realistically encountered in operations, such as territory disputes, terrorist activity and piracy. Warships and aircraft simulated airborne assaults, amphibious landings, evacuations and live-fire exercises.These exercises take place bi-annually, once in spring and again in autumn.Dutch warship HNLMS TROMP was the first to leave Glasgow on Sunday, followed by Norwegian ship HNoMS ROALD AMUNDSEN later in the day.
