The husband-and-wife team behind Naco Mexican Eatery, Francisco Estrada and Lizzeth Martinez, jumped into San Antonio’s culinary scene in 2018 with their food truck at a former gas station at the crossing of Loop 410 and Nacogdoches Road. Last year, the couple opened a brick-and-mortar eatery at the Los Patios complex.
Martinez grew up in Nuevo Laredo, while Estrada grew up in Mexico City. The couple blended their northern and southern Mexican culinary traditions into a menu of chilaquiles, tacos and tortas that earned rave reviews from Texas Monthly and other outlets. Con Huevos Tacos, which began serving up egg-based tacos and quesadillas in November 2019, has also garnered praise from Texas Monthly.
