Police on Saturday were searching for three suspects who brandished a gun and robbed a woman near the University of California, Berkeley.
The three suspects surrounded the woman just after 8:25 p.m. on Friday in the 2400 block of Bowditch Street, about a block away from People's Park, according to the University of California Police Department. One of the suspects "displayed a gun" before the three took the woman's cellphone and purse, then fled the scene in a black sedan resembling an Audi, police said.
A description of the suspects was not available, but police noted they were last seen heading northbound on Bowditch Street toward the university. No injuries were reported in the robbery. Anyone with information on the crime was asked to contact Berkeley police at 510 981-5900.
