Year 9 students Harry Bibrack, Tobin Smith and Thomas Hall were celebrating Smith's 15th birthday at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Thursday when they spotted the little boy face-down near the whirlpool.READ MORE:"My first reaction was to get a lifeguard.""I went over to this woman and was like 'do you have a phone?' and she was like 'yes', and she froze like she couldn't speak," Smith said."So I grabbed the phone and dialled triple zero.
"The bystanders did a wonderful job getting the child out of the water and commencing CPR," Giles Buchannan from NSW Ambulance said."It's absolutely vital for our role to rely on the public to get in there early."
