Three Thousand Years of LongingWell, that looks utterly awesome. Granted, there aren’t any spectacular tractor trailer crashes or doof warriors rocking out with guitars that shoot fire on top of cars made entirely out of amplifiers. But the colors, the camera movements, the amazing costumes... it has that unmistakable George Miller imagination all over it.is about to make its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this week; we’ll see what the reception from critics and audiences there is like.
Dr Alithea Binnie is an academic - content with life and a creature of reason. While in Istanbul attending a conference, she happens to encounter a Djinn who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past.
