Moments after the 15-time major champion and his son, Charlie, finished the final round of the PNC Championship in Orlando, Fla., on Sunday, Woods and ex-wife Elin Nordegren sweetly embraced before she hugged their son Charlie and 17-year-old daughter Sam, who served as the twosome’s caddie.
The teenager sunk his tee shot on the par-3 fourth hole at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, with Woods — who initially wasn’t watching until the roar of the crowd suggested otherwise — commemorating the milestone moment by wrapping his son in a giant bear hug. “That was the thrill of a lifetime to be able to have that moment with Charlie, make his first hole-in-one, Sam on the bag, just our family and friends. That’s what this event is about. It’s about bonding and family,” said Woods, who finished with Charlie at 28-under.It’s been a busy few weeks for Charlie, a sophomore at the South Florida-based Benjamin School, who completed in the Class 1A state championship in November.
