Australians Jason Day, Adam Scott, Lucas Herbert and Cameron Smith make the cut as the Winged Foot course wreaks havoc with the US Open field.
Tiger Woods and defending champion Gary Woodland were just two of a long list of top golfers to miss the US Open cut on Saturday .Patrick Reed leads by one stroke over Bryson DeChambeauthe opening 18 holes at Winged Foot included two holes in one
One of those players, Bryson DeChambeau, hit a 2-under 68 to sit second behind fellow American Patrick Reed, whose even-par 70 was good enough to keep him in the lead by one stroke. First-round leader Justin Thomas followed up his round of 65 with a 73 to sit in a three-way tie for third. There was plenty of star power below the cut line, with Woods and Woodland joined by five-time major champion Phil Mickelson and 2015 US Open winner Jordan Spieth ."I put a lot of time and effort into it, and if your body doesn't let you do it, you just can't do it, and that's frustrating."
