Tiger Woods to visit White House for Medal of Freedom honor
Tiger Woods is scheduled to visit the White House next week to meet with President Trump following his dramatic win at the Masters, a person familiar with the plans said Wednesday.
Trump said last month that he intended to present Woods with the nation’s highest civilian award, the presidential Medal of Freedom, following his comeback victory at the Masters. The ceremony will be held later this year. Woods rallied from behind to win his fifth career green jacket on April 14 at Augusta National Golf Club. It marked his 15th major victory and first since the 2008 U.S. Open. It capped one of the greatest career revivals in the history of sports.
Trump, an avid golfer, occasionally plays with Woods. In February, the two men played with Jack Nicklaus, who currently holds the record for the most golf majors at 18.An expanded version of this report appears on WSJ.com.In college admissions scandal, family paid $6.5 million to get their daughter into Stanford
