Tigers coach Benji Marshall has defended new recruit Terrell May over his comments regarding his desire to play, which were speculated as the reason for his abrupt exit from the Roosters . In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, May admitted that he sometimes struggled with motivation and had quit the sport twice.
Despite initial speculation that the Roosters were trying to create salary cap space, May has since signed a three-year deal with the Tigers, focusing on turning the club around after three consecutive wooden spoons. Marshall believes May was taken out of context and is fully committed to the Tigers' cause
